It's almost here...can you feel the tension?

Yep, pretty soon student will be milling around campuses all over the country for back to school. And this is no exception in Midtown Detroit. For this reason I just wanted to say a few words.
Since back to school is coming and there will be a large surge in the pedestrian traffic levels, please take care when driving around here. It is basic common courtesy that the pedestrian has the right of way. You do not have to speed, we will be open, and if by chance you miss us, we will be open the next day, I promise you. There is no need to race around the Wayne State Campus, or near CCS.
So...just be careful, be curteous, and be safe while driving around all of the students.

Other Good Stuff----

We still have up the artist oppurtunities board in the store. I just refilled it with lots of fantastic things. So come on in and pick up some info for your next show!!!!

Artist of the Month

Artist of the Month Carl Oxley!!!!

"I started painting in High School. My art teacher showed my class a video called 'Drawing the Line; A Portrait of Keith Haring'. That video made me want to paint, and planted the seed that has become my life.
I love painting. Most of all I love making people laugh and smile. My art is almost always happy and humorous, with bright colors and crazy characters. I make art of all sizes. From 4'x8', to 5"x7" and everything in between. I believe art should be accessable to everyone. It is extremely important to me that the people who ejoy my work the most, can afford to take home the piece they love."

Artist Oppurtunity Board

Hey! Guess what I have for everyone in the store!!!

Oh yeah, we have a very nice bulletin board set up for everyone who is looking for artist oppurtunities. Posted are copies of Calls for artists, Artist job openings and lots of other things of the sort. There are about 5 copies of each article/item, so no worries there is plenty to go around. Most of the Calls for Artists have deadline way in the future, so you have time to get everything together that you need. Many are out of state as well, so if you found that you have exhausted all galleries here in Detroit or would rather show out side of Michigan, we can help you. All packets have the necessary information any artist will need to know, such as deadlines, slides or photographs contact information etc.

So stop crying that there isn't any place to show your art work, we have a large listing of local galleries and other venues. Plus, we have a great collection of galleries to show outside of Michigan.

We are your best resource for places to show and what you need to get that show.
