Paperblanks sketch books and Journals

First and foremost, we will not have a Feb. Demonstration. We are rennovating the store in Feb. and we just don't think it is fair to the visiting artist to have to deal with all of the mess and stuff.

On to other things...Gary Eleinko will be curating a show called "Detroit Next" at the Detroit Artists Market in March. I hope everyone comes out to see it. Also keep you schedule clear on every third Wednesday of the month---These are DAMs monthly group critiques. You can sign up with DAM to show your work in the critiques. If you don't have any work to show come anyways, these are open to everyone, whether you just want to put your two cents in or need some one elses two cents.

555 Gallery and Studios is having an open call to artists for their "ShowLove" exhibit please visit their website for further information...you can use our links column, they are listed there.

Also get ready for this years graduate shows at Wayne State University. Utrecht Art Supply Detroit employee, Nick Jones, will be showing from January 26th-February 23rd. Opening reception is January 26th from 5-8pm. Come out and show some love for one of your favorite Utrecht Detroiters.

January's Free Demonstration- Tomorrow!!

CANVAS CLEARANCE!!

Yes you heard right. We have quite a boat load of canvas, and linen, on clearance! These prices are below cost so they won't last long. These are non-Utrecht Art Supply Canvases, so they aren't of the same quality, but they are still darn good canvases!!!

Sizes range from 5"x7" to 36"x48", and frofiles of 3/4" to 1 1/2". So there is a great variety! Just to give you an idea of the ridiculously low prices a 36x48 3/4 profile canvas is $18.00. Yeah I thought you'd jump at that.

So, come in and get them now, once they are gone, that's it, they are never coming back!

Aside from great art supplies at hard to beat prices, Utrecht Art Supply in Detroit can offer a lot more! Let me give you some examples...

-Artist Oppurtunities Bulletin Board. We have a great big bulletin board chock full of things to do such as gallery openings. Also artist oppurtunites at local and national galleries. You could get your next show from the pamphlets and flyers we provide.

-Monthly Free Demonstrations. Many different mediums are covered from screen printing to matt cutting to colored pencil, with lots of others in between. Again these are all free to the public. Demonstrations are always on a Saturday, from 12-2pm, one Sautrday out of the month. Coming up we will have a matt cutting demo (Feb. will be skipped due to renovations) and in March we will have a Paper Making demontration.

-Trusted Resources. Any question about any art supplies, techniques, or usage can be answered. All of the exployees at Utrecht Detroit are in the art field, many with their BFA's and some working on their MFA's. Come in and pick our brains!

-ArtSmart. For those who have not already heard of this program, here you go: The ArtSmart card will activate sale prices in the store. Think of it like a Kroger or CVS card. When we activate the ArtSmart card for you, you will get mailings (no more than about 6-7 per year) showing you exactly what is on sale, and what the card works for. You will also recieve some really nice extra coupons (again, we will not clog up your mail box) for either 20% off one item or even 30% off one item, and some others too.

So I hope that you really use our store to fullest extent! Come on in and see us.

Just a heads up as to our hours during the mad back to school dash...

January 8th through January 12th : 9am-7pm

January 13th & 14th Regular Hours

January 20th Regular Hours!

WC3 Students-- You may use your vouchers from January 17th through the 31st, no later. They must also be used all at once. For more information about what you need with your vouchers please click on the WC3 voucher program link to the right!! If you don't have these things with you, we can not process your order.

Matt Cutting Demonstration

Saturday, January 20th from Noon-2pm, we will be hosting a FREE Matt CUtting Demonstration!

Yes, you get to learn how to vut your own matts. The marvelous thing about this, is you can save your self a bit of money when you cut the matts for art work yourself instead of having a professional framer do it for you. It's easy to learn, and may take just a little bit of practice, but a great skill to know!

While you are here, you can recieve 20% off all Matt Cutters, the day of the demonstration. Which is quite a deal.
